I am very pleased to be at ACS Hillingdon. In the beginning I felt anxious - I thought it would be a big challenge, coming from a state school. However the teachers and the students have been very welcoming, friendly and supportive, this makes me feel more comfortable around the school.
What makes ACS Hillingdon great
Our collaborative school community brings together 570 students (aged 4 to 18), and 150 expert faculty and staff, from over 50 countries. Our historic 11-acre campus is less than 14 miles from central London, enabling students to benefit from opportunities in both the city and countryside. We run an extensive busing service, and door-to-door and express shuttle services into the capital.
ACS Hillingdon offers world-renowned academic programmes, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
The campus boasts a stunning mansion house and modern wing extension with age-appropriate libraries, science and IT labs, art studios, cafeteria, gym, and auditorium. We have a dedicated music centre with recording suite, called Harmony House. Our grounds are home to an all-weather playing field, tennis and basketball courts, and adventure play areas, with off-site facilities for soccer, rugby, swimming, track and field.
We have also recently invested £10m in a state-of-the-art, 7-lab Science Centre with the goal to advance student research, innovation, curiosity, and achievement. By elevating the science experience, we have created more options for students to secure great results, excel at university, and ultimately progress into cutting-edge careers.
ACS bursaries will be offered to students who are most likely to benefit from an ACS education, but might not otherwise be able to attend the school. The financial awards will range from 20 – 100% of full fees. All bursaries are means-tested, and each financial award is dependent on the student’s individual circumstance. In line with our values, ACS welcomes students with enquiring minds, an international mindset, and a desire to make a difference. We offer both Middle School Bursaries for students aged 11 or 13, and High School Bursaries, including the International Baccalaureate Diploma (IBDP), for students aged 16. Students applying for the IBDP bursary will be expected to achieve in the region of 5 A's at GCSE. All students will benefit from a broad international curriculum which aims to inspire all to become successful lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.
Our criteria for awarding bursaries
We welcome applications from parents who believe their child (girl or boy) will benefit from a place at ACS, and who will contribute strongly to the life of the community and our international ethos, but who require financial assistance. Assessments and a review of information submitted will follow, and decisions on bursary awards will be communicated by the 1st May 2018.
Calculating the bursary award
ACS financial awards are offered for up to 7 years, and range in size from 20 – 100% of full fees (and in exceptional circumstances will include specific additional school-related expenditure to enable students to participate fully in school life). We calculate the amount of each bursary only after we have assessed parents' level of income and financial assets. Upon application, parents will be asked to submit various documents relating to this. Bursaries will be awarded for Middle School (ages 11 or 13), or High School (aged 16). Bursary awards will be reviewed on an annual basis against any changes in parents’ financial circumstances.
