Co-curricular activities are a key part of our well-balanced programme. Students need opportunities to socialise, learn new skills, and have fun together. In our international community, with our students' homes spread out over Doha, we have found that after school and weekend (Saturday) activities provide children with additional occasions to see their friends. We offer various clubs and activities at differing times of the week and school year. We always welcome parent volunteers to further supplement our programme. After-school activities are normally from 2:30 - 3:30pm.
The school offers clubs to students in Grades 1 to 8 for an hour after school one day per week. There are usually two sessions with different choices each session. Club sessions vary depending on interests and demand. Offerings can include cooking, kickball, chess, swimming, crafts, book club, school shop, games, multicultural club, green team, etc.
A variety of social activities are planned for students after school hours with the help of the PSO (Parent-School Organisation) and Student Council. The PSO Liaisons, working with our student council leaders, organise after-school parties for 5th and 6th Grade students. Games, table tennis, and air hockey are common features of most parties. We also serve refreshments that parent volunteers provide. Music is provided with the help of the Student Council and PSO Liaisons.
Global Learning & Travel Excursions
At ACS Doha, we want our students to obtain as many different academic and positive experiential learning opportunities as possible. ACS Doha promotes the expansion of the curriculum into the community. We want to take as many opportunities as possible to utilise the larger national and international landscape to develop and extend student knowledge on subjects they are already learning in class.
In addition to the trips offered as part of the curriculum, ACS Doha also offers optional trips that are sports, culture, science and language-related.
Private music lessons can be arranged. The school has a list of private instructors, and a fee is charged.
